The Bearded Collie Club of Scotland
OPEN SHOW 25th JUNE 2011
Judge: Bobby Millar ( Beardiewood )
It was a honour to judge the club show, I would like to thank the membership for the chance to do so, I would say in general the breed has improved since the last time I judged in 2008, though some bad faults still exist , a few mouths were not correct, and there were a few with dirty teeth, on a positive note presentation was first class as always and it was also nice to see some new exhibitors coming to the breed, I have noticed that some Breeders are going the extra mile when looking for the correct dog for their litter, and others bringing in stock from abroad, which is a exciting prospect, only time will tell what this can bring to the breed here, I wish them all well.

Special Vintage Dog (1)
• Jemmett’s: THYMEWINDS MIDWINTER MAGIC AT WESTBERE, 11year old dark slate in good condition for his years, well presented moved o.k. a dog that likes you to know that he is there.
Veteran Dog (3)
• Buchanan-Hislop’s : Ch CIOPAR CELTIC RAZZLE’S BOY J.W, 9 year old in very good condition, well balanced head with good expression, good reach of neck, and very good front extension moved with drive, well worth his champion status, was only too happy to award him BEST VETERAN.
• Broadbridge & Muir’s: SALLEN HARRAR, Top sized brown, good length with good quality coat, good depth of rib, moved o.k. very good temperament.
• Stott’s : MOBUFF KASHMIR
Minor Puppy Dog (1)
• Killen’s: GALLUS ODDS ON FAVOURITE, 7 month puppy new to the show ring, but thoroughly enjoying his day, good free flowing movement which you would expect with regards to his breeding, would have just liked a little more bone.
Puppy Dog (3) (1abs)
• Handley’s: BARGEMON BARYSHNIKOV, 9 month old dark slate, very good length to height ratio, well balanced head, good length and depth of rib, but comes into his own on the move, super reach and drive which is just effortless, will watch this boy with interest, on a level playing field, will trouble the best, so was happy to award him BEST PUPPY IN SHOW.
• Killen’s : GALLUS ODDS ON FAVOURITE
Junior Dog (6) (3abs)
• Handley’s : BARGEMON BARYSHNIKOV, see puppy
• Handley’s : BARGEMON BEAUFORD TOURER, Brown dog going though his coat change, well up for size, with a super length and depth of rib cage, nice head, well turned out, just preferred the reach of first, can be a bit grumpy
• Frame’s : SALLEN HOUSEMAN (TAF)
Yearling Dog (2)
• Handley’s : BARGEMON BEAUFORD TOURER, see junior
• Frame’s: SALLEN HOUSEMAN (TAF), smaller type, with good harsh coat for one so young, would have preferred a bit more length of body, moved o.k. for his first time in the show ring, a bit fond of his tail.

Limit Dog (5) (2abs)

• Stott’s : MOBUFF KASHMIR, 3rd in veteran, this dark slate was really enjoying his day, at just short of 8 yrs well up in size, but would have preferred a little more length, moved ok, in good coat, and condition, and one of the best temperaments I saw all day.
