The Bearded Collie Club of Scotland Open Show – Sautrday 20th June 2026 Judge: Lyndsay Burgon (Lyngem) I'd like to thank the members of the bearded collie club of Scotland for voting for me for this appointment and a big thank you to the committee for their wonderful hospitality. I really enjoyed my judging in a very beautiful setting, certainly the perfect backdrop for my day. And finally thank you to all of the lovely exhibitors for bringing your dogs and giving me a lovely entry. DOGS: SPECIAL VINTAGE DOG - 2 (0) 1st - Delaney’s Ch/Sp Ch. Arranbrae Muy Guapo JW. 10 year old slate male, masculine head, eye toning well with coat, excellent dentition for his age, nice arch to neck and lovely layback of shoulder, good length of rib and short loin, in good solid muscular condition, moved with reach and drive, handled and presented well. 2nd - Robertson’s Arranbrae Laird of Quothquan JW. 10 year old slate male, broad flat skull, correct bite, good body proportions with correct ribbing, movement not as sound as 1, handled well. VETERAN DOG - 2 (0) 1st - Savage/McLean’s Talraz Comic Relief at Canaich JW VW. Lovely 9 year old slate male, correct head proportions, beautiful dark eye toning well with his dark hash jacket, nice angles front and rear and very well muscled throughout, moved out well. 2nd - Kuz’s Duncannas Special Edition at Strufingill JW. 7 year old slate boy, broad flat skull, eye toning well with coat, correct bite, good angulation, correct rib length, well muscled hindquarters, moved out well. MINOR PUPPY DOG - 1 (0) 1st - Higgins’ Potterdale Highland Plus at Allachoy. 6 month old slate boy, everything how it should be, masculine head, strong muzzle, correct bite, good arch to neck leading to well laid back shoulders, correct body proportions, a little excited today which affected his movement but I am sure he will settle as he matures. PUPPY DOG - 2 (0) 1st - Kuz’s Farmarens Peter Pan at Strufingill (imp SWE). 11 months, masculine male, eye toning well with coat, correct head proportions, nice arch to neck leading to well laid back shoulders, good angulation, correct length of rib with a lovely short firm loin, moved well with good reach and drive, presented well, BPD. 2nd - Higgins’ Potterdale Highland Plus at Allachoy. Repeat. JUNIOR DOG - 3 (0) 1st - Delaney’s Rollo De Maeluma at Arranbrae (imp ESP). At just 12 months this young man has a promising future, head of correct proportions with strong muzzle and correct dentition, well muscled neck leading to good shoulder placement, well balanced angulation front and rear, nicely muscled throughout, lovely reach and drive, his movement was effortless and he covered the ground well, at one with his handler, RBD. 2nd - Kuz’s Farmarens Peter Pan at Strufingill (imp SWE). Repeat. 3rd - Higgins’ Potterdale Highland Plus at Allachoy. Repeat. YEARLING DOG - 1 (0) 1st - Ryan’s Gallus Midas Touch into Razkal JW. 21 month old brown male, correct bite, eye toning well with his changing coat, nice arch to neck, good body proportions, moved well but would benefit from being moved on a looser lead to give him more freedom in his action. NOVICE DOG - 2 (0) 1st - Delaney’s Rollo De Maeluma at Arranbrae (imp ESP). Repeat. 2nd - Kuz’s Farmarens Peter Pan at Strufingill (imp SWE). Repeat. GRADUATE DOG - 3 (1) 1st - Cox’s Strufingill Top Gun for Coirantee. 2 year old slate male, correct head proportions with lovely dark pigment, he has that typical melting Beardie expression, nice angles front and rear, well muscled throughout, a little distracted at times in the ring but handled sympathetically. 2nd - Ryan’s Gallus Midas Touch into Razkal JW. Repeat. POST GRADUATE DOG - 1 (0) 1st - Ryan’s Gallus Midas Touch for Razkal JW. Repeat. LIMIT DOG - 2 (0) 1st - Butcher’s Sylvabrae’s Newton’s Law. 4 year old blue boy, broad flat skull, lovely eye, correct bite, his neck sits beautifully into his well placed shoulders, correct angulation, correct ribbing, presented immaculately, lovely free and effortless movement and a credit to his handler, considered for top honours. 2nd - Cox’s Braesnobel Salt n’Pepper for Coirantee. 4 year old slate male, nice head proportions, good angulation, nice body proportions, hard to assess movement as he was very unsettled today, his handler was very sympathetic with him. OPEN DOG - 2 (0) 1st - Moir’s Ch. Winaria Wellington JW. 4 year old slate male, broad flat skull, a soft melting expression just as Beardie should have, his eye toning well with his coat, correct scissor bite, lovely arch to his neck flowing into his perfectly placed shoulders, good depth of chest, well angulated front and rear, this boy really comes into his own once he starts moving, he just flows round the ring so effortlessly, you can see why this dog holds his title of Champion and an easy decision to award him BD & RBIS today. 2nd - Handley’s Bargemon Brigadoon at Barkenbear JW ShCEx OSW. 5 year old slate male, masculine head, eye toning well with coat and good pigment, correct bite, adequate shoulder placement, would like a little more substance, shown in good condition and handled well. BITCHES SPECIAL VINTAGE BITCH - 3 (0) 1st - Salter’s Irisaddition Effie Trinket JW VW. Best Special Vintage. Ultra feminine, 10 year old gorgeous slate lady, head proportions exactly as they should be, her eyes are dark but tone so well with her harsh jacket, lovely arch to neck gliding into well placed shoulders, good depth to chest, correct body length and great angles front and rear, her movement was outstanding, she’s certainly no intention of slowing down and showing her age, she covers the ground well yet still effortless, presented in excellent condition, a great team. 2nd - Goodbrand’s Kiltondale Isn’t She Lovely for Braesnobel VW. 11 year old slate bitch, very feminine, nice head, correct bite, eye toned well with coat, good forechest, nice angulation, in good condition, moved well and well handled. 3rd - Higgins’ Innkalies Miss Marple at Allachoy. 10 year old slate bitch, broad flat skull, nice dark eye and good pigment, would prefer better angulation overall to give more reach and drive. VETERAN BITCH - 4 (0) 1st - Glasgow’s Ch. Malandex Xpat’s Gem at Gallus JW. 8 year old lovely slate girl, everything where it should be, broad flat skull, nice eye toning well with coat and giving that melting Beardie expression, lovely arch to neck fitting into perfectly balanced shoulders, good depth of chest, nice length of rib and short loin, brilliant angulation front and rear and can this girl move! Her ground covering action is exactly how a Beardie should be, BV & BVIS. 2nd - Gill/Hosie’s Ch. Malandex French Expectation for Gillaber. 8 years, ultra feminine slate bitch, broad flat skull, eye toning well with coat, correct bite, lovely front and rear angulation, lean and active, well muscled through, correct ribbing and short firm loin, moved well round the ring with good reach and drive. 3rd - Muir’s Douglasdale Dream Island VW. 9 year old brown lady, correct head proportions, lovely brown eyes, nice arch to neck, well laid back shoulders, good depth of chest, correct body proportions, good angulation, moved out well. MINOR PUPPY BITCH - 1 (0 1st - Lewin’s Potterdale Phuture Plus. 6 months old, beautifully feminine lady and what a future she will have! She has ticks in every box, a broad flat skull, correct muzzle and bite, a lovely arch to her neck leading to perfectly placed shoulders, good body proportions and great angulation, she holds a firm top-line on the move, her movement was simply flawless, showing brilliant reach and drive, one to watch in future, BPB & BPIS. PUPPY BITCH - 2 (0) 1st - Lewin’s Potterdale Phuture Plus. Repeat. 2nd - Jenkinson’s Tybury’s Arya’s Legend for Ellishar. 8 months old, blue bitch, another lovey puppy, very feminine and certainly unlucky to meet 1st today, correct head proportions, correct bite, nice eye, nice arch to neck and lovely shoulder placement, correct body shape, good length of rib and short loin, great angulation front and rear, moved well with good reach and drive. JUNIOR BITCH - 5 (1) 1st - Ballantyne’s Potterdale Prime N’Proper for Bustroc. A true lady being some of the first words in my judging book, 17 month old bitch who just oozes femininity, lovely broad flat skull with correct bite, her well arched muscular neck sits perfectly in her beautifully placed shoulders, her front and rear angulation helped her to move round the ring with grace and ease, she just floated! Her presentation was immaculate, a true credit to her handler and I am sure she has a very promising future ahead of her, very pleased to award her BB & BIS. 2nd - Gill/Hosie’s Calkylona Midnite Melody. Lovely 12 month old slate bitch, very feminine, correct head proportions and eye toning well with her lovely harsh jacket, good depth of chest, correctly constructed from head to toe, her well balanced front and rear angulation helped her move with grace and purpose, handled well. 3rd - Peart’s Malandex Xquisit’s Legacy for Talluarchy. 12 month old slate girl, broad flat skull, good strength to muzzle, ears well set, eye toning well with coat, nice neck leading to good layback of shoulder, slightly longer in body which affected overall balance on the move, handled well. YEARLING BITCH - 2 (1) 1st - Glasgow’s Gallus Hopes and Dreams JW. 21 months, brown bitch, feminine from head to toe, correct head proportions, lovely brown eyes toning well with her changing harsh jacket, nice neck leading into well placed shoulders, nice length of rib and well muscled short loin, good angulation front and rear, moved out well. NOVICE BITCH - 3 (0) 1st - Peart’s Malandex Xquisit’s Legacy for Talluarchy. Repeat. 2nd - Duncan’s Frida De Maeluma at Duncannas (imp ESP). 12 month old bitch, nice qualities, correct feminine eye toning well with coat, correct bite, nice angulation front and rear, moved well but will show much better reach and drive once she settles into her movement. 3rd - Hume’s Beabeardies Mustang Sally. 2 year old slate bitch correct head proportions with well set ears, correct eye tone, adequate shoulder placement, well presented and handled. GRADUATE BITCH - 4 (0) 1st - Ballantyne’s Potterdale Prime N’Proper for Bustroc. Repeat. 2nd - Glasgow’s Gallus Hopes and Dreams JW. Repeat. 3rd - Savage/McLean’s Strufingill Penny Benjamin at Canaich. 2 year old slate bitch, feminine head and great pigment, nice neck leading to adequate shoulder placement, good length of rib, adequate front and rear angles. POST GRADUATE BITCH - 5 (1) 1st - Glasgow’s Viva The Diva De Chester Gallus JW (imp FRA). 2 year old slate bitch, broad flat skull, correct dentition, lovely Beardie expression with toning eye, ultra feminine and very suiting of her girly name! good depth of chest, lovely arch to neck leading into well placed shoulders, good length to rib with well muscled short loin, presented well in a lovely harsh jacket, covered the ground well with good reach and drive, RBB. 2nd - Robertson’s Quothquan Aylyth. Slate bitch, 2 years old, correct head proportions, correct eye and correct bite, would prefer better front and rear angulation to give a better profile movement, presented well. 3rd - Goodbrand’s Braesnobel Rum N’Raisin. 4 year old slate girl, ultra feminine bitch, beautiful dark eye showing that typical Beardie expression, correct head proportions, again would prefer better angulation front and rear to give better reach and drive, handled well. LIMIT BITCH - 4 (1) 1st - Kuz’s Kiltondale Memphis Belle at Strufingill. 6 year old slate bitch, feminine girl, correct head proportions, nice well set ears, lovely dark pigment, adequate shoulder placement, correct ribbing and length to loin, would benefit from better muscle tone to give more drive on the move. 2nd - Robertson’s Heather Mist Miss Tillietudlem at Quothquan. 6 year old brown girl, broad flat skull, nice brown eye toning well with coat, nice depth of chest, adequate shoulder placement, correct ribbing, would benefit from better overall condition, lacked reach and drive on the move. 3rd - Strain’s Bryonyhill Sunshine. 3 year old brown bitch, nice eye toning well with coat, correct bite, correct in body with good ribbing and short loin, handled well. OPEN BITCH - 3 (0) 1st - Glasgow’s Basnikova Muza Od Plzenskeho Lotra Gallus JW (imp CZE). 4 year old brown girl, very feminine, gorgeous brown eye toning well with her nice harsh jacket, good depth to chest, nice arch to neck fitting into well placed shoulders, correct length to body and good short loin, lovely angulation front and rear and well muscled throughout, her movement was free with good reach and drive, certainly earned her place at the top of this class. 2nd - Jenkinson’s Irisaddition Victorious with Ellishar JW. 3 year old slate with, correct head proportions, good strength in muzzle, eye toning well with coat, lovely arch to neck and correct shoulder placement, adequate ribbing, good depth of chest, nice angulation, presented beautifully, moved well but would benefit from better muscle tone. 3rd - Higgins’ Ir Ch. Allachoy Isle of Neave. 5 year old slate girl, nice broad flat skull, beautiful dark eye and excellent pigment, adequate shoulder placement, correct ribbing, would like better angulation to give more reach and drive, well muscled throughout, handled well.
