The Bearded Collie Club of Scotland Open Show – Saurday 1st March 2025 Judge: Mrs Sandie Evans (Saskyadu) Firstly I would like to say a big thank-you to the Bearded Collie Club of Scotland Members for asking me to judge this show. The welcome I received was so lovely along the comments regarding the day. Many thanks to June and Richard for stewarding so well and keeping things on track. DOGS: SPECIAL VINTAGE DOG - 1 (1) VETERAN DOG - 2 (0) 1st - Robertson's Arranbrae Laird of Quothquan JW 8 year old Well balanced, correct bite and well sprung ribs, Lovely deep chest, Nice strong head, well-muscled on the rear. Well constructed through out. Good reach and drive around the ring. Good pigment 2nd - Savage & McLean's Talraz Comic Relief at Canaich JW VW 7 years old slate plain lad, Strong head and deep chest level topline, good angulation at the rear, moved well. MINOR PUPPY DOG - 1 (0) 1st - Ryan's Gallus Midas Touch into Razkal Brown boy Needed to settle. Eyes toning with coat. Good straight front and laid back shoulders.Well balanced for his age. PUPPY DOG - 3 (2) 1st - Ryan's Gallus Midas Touch into Razkal As above JUNIOR DOG - 4 (2) 1st - Handley's Strufingill Maverick at Barkenbear Plain Slate boy lovely deep chest, laid back shoulders well muscled at rear. Level topline with slightly darker eyes than 2nd. 2nd - Cox's Strufingill Top Gun for Coirantee Litter brother to 1st. As above, but on the day slightly lame at the rear. YEARLING DOG - 1 (0) 1st - Handley's Strufingill Maverick at Barkenbear As above NOVICE DOG - 2 (2) GRADUATE DOG - (no entries) POST GRADUATE DOG - 4 (0) 1st - Cox's Braesnobel Salt N’ Pepper for Coirantee Plain Slate lad, Lovely Broad strong head, Dark eye colour, correct bite, Nice deep chest, well laid back shoulders and level topline Well sprung ribs, nice tail set, Good overall balance lovely rear angulation moved well flowed with no effort. Just up my street. BIS 2nd - Moir's Winaria Wellington JW Lovely balanced lad, well muscled good length of rib, rear angulation very good. 3rd Walker's Allachoy Dances with Wolves 5 year old plainer lad, moved well LIMIT DOG - 2 (1) 1st - Buchanan's Ciopar Celtic Cherokee 5 year old lad Strong head, with dark eyes toning with coat, deep chest level topline on the move. Overall well balanced. Moved with good reach and drive nicely muscled OPEN DOG - 3 (0) 1st - Goodbrand's Braesnobel Looney Tunes ShCEx I have judged this lovely lad before, same as before he shows his socks off. Lovely overall balanced shape. Correct bite, Strong head, laid back shoulders, well sprung ribs, well angled and muscled level topline, nice tail set Well constructed through out. 2nd - Handley's Bargemon Brigadoon At Barkenbear JW ShCEx OSW Good head, dark eyes. Well-constructed throughout with excellent depth and length of rib, moving with good reach & drive. Shame he met 1st in this class. 3rd - Peart's Ch Kilfinan Mister Moonlight For Talluarchy 6 year old Chunkier lad level topline well-muscled. BITCHES SPECIAL VINTAGE BITCH - 2 (1) 1st - Robertson's Kiltondale Liadhich with Quothquan ShCM Well what can I say this 13 year old little lady flowed like a 2 year old. Coat showing her age. But a credit to our breed fit as two fiddles. VETERAN BITCH - 3 (1) Hardest class of the Dogs, nothing between them both !! 1st - Muir's Douglasdale Dream Island Brown lady not showing her age at all Broad head, correct bite and a Lovely shape and balance, level topline with muscled rear angulation, correct tail set, moved with no effort on the day. 2nd - Gill & Hosie's Ch Malandex French Xpectation for Gillaber Again this young lady not showing her age, lovely deep chest, strong neck, slightly better coat than 1st. But other than that two super ladies. MINOR PUPPY BITCH - 2 (0) 1st - Glasgow's Gallus Hopes and Dreams Strong but femine head, correct bite, chest deep, level topline for 6 months a nice steady mover around the ring 2nd - Hume's Beabeardies Mustang Sally 8 months Pretty pup very dark in colour, just needs to settle on the move. PUPPY BITCH - 4 (1) 1st - Glasgow's Viva the Diva de Chester Gallus (Imp Fra) Lovely shaped little blue lady 9.5 months Strong head, good front and rear angulation with good muscles .Well sprung ribs, nice tail set. Moved with no effort around the ring. 2nd - Robertson's Quothquan Aylyth 11 months strong head and front, eyecatching slate lady. Level topline and moved very well. 3rd - Hume's Beabeardies Mustang Sally As above JUNIOR BITCH - 2 (0) 1st - Glasgow's Viva the Diva de Chester Gallus (Imp Fra) As Above. 2nd - Savage & McLean's Strufingill Penny Benjamin at Canaich 13 months Needs to settle bit nervous on the day, maybe the loud noises around. Nice eye colour, good muscle tone, movement needs to settle as well. YEARLING BITCH - 2 (0) 1st - Johnston's Corimist Glimmer of Rye Blue lady nice balanced shape, strong head with good eye colour. Well muscled, moved out well, very long tail 2nd - Savage & McLean's Strufingill Penny Benjamin at Canaich As Above NOVICE BITCH - 3(1) 1st - Kirby's Braemoor’s Rejoice Again at Finesk (Imp NLD) Lovely fine frame but very mature for her age, Straight front Level topline, correct tail set, moved with reach and drive. 2nd - Glasgow's Gallus Hopes and Dreams As Above GRADUATE BITCH - 3 (1) 1st - Savage & McLean's Strufingill Penny Benjamin at Canaich As Above 2nd - Gamble's Capelaw Celeste Finely framed lady So well-constructed throughout with excellent laid back shoulder, correct depth, length and shape of rib and well angulated rear. Moved well for her owner. POST GRADUATE BITCH - (no entries) LIMIT BITCH - 4 (2) Hardest class of the Day. 1st - Robertson's Heather Mist Miss Tillietudlem at Quothquan (Imp Swe) Brown lady Strong head, correct bite, super head and well laid back shoulders, deep chest, level topline and tail set. Moved like a dream with reach and drive. So hard to choose between these two lovely ladies BB and BOS 2nd - Higgins' Allachoy Isle of Neave I could write the same for this slate lady, splitting hairs. Broad head, straight front with depth of chest. Topline level and tail set correct. Moved around the ring with no effort OPEN BITCH - 1 (1) SPECIAL WORKING DOG OR BITCH - 1 (0) 1st - Robertson's Kiltondale Liadhich with Quothquan ShCM As Above. A pleasure to watch move around the ring. SPECIAL CHAMPION CLASS - 4 (2) 1st - Glasgow's Ch Malandex Xpat’s Gem at Gallus JW Slate lady, strong head with dark eye and melting expression. Lovely reach of neck flowing into a straight front. Lovely body shape, level top line. Overall quality lady 2nd - Peart's Ch Kilfinan Mister Moonlight For Talluarchy As above BRACE - (no entries) PROGENY - 2 (1) 1st - Handley's Bargemon Brigadoon At Barkenbear JW ShCEx OSW Nice balanced dog. Strong head, deep chest and laid back shoulders. Moved with ease around the ring. |
