The Bearded Collie Club of Scotland Open Show – Saurday 21st June 2025 Judge: Mrs Andrea Murray-Walker (Walkerbrae) I would like to thank the committee for inviting me to judge this show and for the lovely gift I received. Also to my steward Lyn Armour who did a great job and kept the ring running smoothly. Most of all I would like to thank the exhibitors who entered their lovely beardies for me to judge and accepted my decisions on the day in a sporting manner. DOGS: SPECIAL VINTAGE DOG - (no entries) VETERAN DOG - 2 (0) 1st - Savage & McLean’s Talraz Comic Relief At Canaich JW VW Slate boy of 8 years with strong masculine head. Dark eyes with lovely expression. Good front and rear angulation with nice depth of chest and length of rib. Moved very well with reach and drive. Feel he gets better with age. RBD & BVIS. 2nd - Robertson’s Arranbrae Laird Of Quothquan JW 9 years old with lovely head and eye. Nicely angulated front, good length of rib and well muscled rear. Didn’t move as well today as I know he can. MINOR PUPPY DOG - (no entries) PUPPY DOG - 1 (0) 1st - Ryan’s Gallus Midus Touch Into Razkal Lovely brown boy of 10 months. Head developing nicely and eyes toning with coat. Nice length of neck, good length of rib with short loin. Well balanced throughout. Moved very well for one so young. Should have a bright future. BPIS. JUNIOR DOG - 3 (0) 1st - Ryan’s Gallus Midus Touch Into Razkal 2nd - Handley’s Strufingill Maverick At Barkenbear Slate boy with well proportioned head and dark eye. Balanced front and rear. A little loose in rear movement which should tighten up as he matures. 3rd Cox’s Strufingill Top Gun For Coirantee Another slate, brother to 2nd with similar proportions. Not as mature as his brother. Lacking coat at the moment. Tended to lose topline on the move. YEARLING DOG - 1 (0) 1st - Handley’s Strufingill Maverick At Barkenbear NOVICE DOG - (no entries) GRADUATE DOG - 2 (0) 1st - Ryan’s Gallus Midus Touch Into Razkal 2nd - Handley’s Strufingill Maverick At Barkenbear POST GRADUATE DOG - 2 (0) 1st - Cox’s Braesnobel Salt N’Pepper For Coirantee Lovely boy with nice head and neck. Good shoulder placement. A little narrow in front. Well muscled rear. Moved well. 2nd - Walker’s Allachoy Dances With Wolves Good head with dark eye. Matching front and rear angulation. Nice length of rib and short loin. Movement ok. LIMIT DOG - 5 (1) 1st - Ayrton’s Aoibh Drummer Boy JW Lovely slate boy with masculine head proportions. Super front with plenty of forechest. Good depth of chest and length of rib with nice short loin. Well muscled and moved freely round the ring with reach and drive. Felt he could have moved all day. One I really liked a lot. BD & BIS 2nd - Moir’s Winaria Wellington JW Dark slate boy. Correct flat skull and dark eyes. Nice length of neck, good forechest and ribcage. Balanced front and rear assemblies. Preferred the freer movement of the 1st. 3rd - Kuz’s Duncannas Special Edition At Strufingill Nice slate boy with good angles. Just not moving as well as first two in class. OPEN DOG - 3 (0) 1st - Peart’s Ch Kilfinan Mister Moonlight For Talluarchy Lovely slate boy with good head proportions and dark eye. Good front and rear. Correct height to length ratio. Considered him in the challenge but he was a bit sluggish on the move. 2nd - Goodbrand’s Braesnobel Looney Tunes ShCEx Nicely balanced slate boy with strong head proportions. Correct front and rear angulations. Moved well. 3rd - Handley’s Bargemon Brigadoon At Barkenbear JW ShCEx OSW Solid boy with everything in the right place. Just felt he didn’t move as well today. Well presented. BITCHES SPECIAL VINTAGE BITCH - 2 (0) Two super girls in this class, both belying their age….a credit to their owners. 1st - Goodbrand’s Kiltondale Isn’t She Lovely For Braesnobel VW Nice head with kind eye. Good shape and balance all through. Held her topline and moved well. Best Special Vintage. 2nd - Steel’s Invercoyle Erdradour Another lovely girl who is nicely constructed. Carrying a little weight but moved well and enjoying her day out. VETERAN BITCH - 4 (1) 1st - Moir’s Braemoor’s Fabulous Fennela At Winaria (imp Nld) JW Super old-fashioned type girl. Slight wave in her slate coat. Lovely front with well angulated rear, depth and length of rib, strong short loin. Flowed freely round the ring. Liked her a lot. 2nd - Gill & Hosie’s Ch Malandex French Xpectation For Gillaber Different type to 1, but nicely made throughout. Moved with drive round the ring. 3rd - Ayrton’s Aoibh Skylark Slightly smaller girl who moved well. Nicely angulated all through but lost her topline slightly on the stand. MINOR PUPPY BITCH - (no entries) PUPPY BITCH - 1 (0) 1st - Glasgow’s Gallus Hopes And Dreams Lovely brown girl, feminine head and eye toning with coat. Litter sister to winner of puppy dog. Has same attributes as her brother but is not as mature as him. Lovely movement, will watch her future development with interest. BOSP JUNIOR BITCH - 4 (0) 1st - Robertson’s Quothquan Aylyth Lovely well balanced girl. Lovely head, would prefer darker eye but should come as she matures. Lovely front and rear angulation with correct rib length and short loin. Moved freely. 2nd - Glasgow’s Viva The Diva De Chester Gallus (imp Fra) This girl is maturing nicely and was close up to the 1st. Similarly constructed but just preferred the length of rib in the winner of the class. Moved well. 3rd - Savage & McLean’s Strufingill Penny Benjamin At Canaich Another quality young lady with balanced angles front and rear. Didn’t move quite as smoothly as 1 and 2. YEARLING BITCH - 3 (0) 1st - Glasgow’s Viva The Diva De Chester Gallus (imp Fra) 2nd - Savage & McLean’s Strufingill Penny Benjamin At Canaich 3rd - Hume’s Beabeardies Mustang Sally Nice young girl who unfortunately was not cooperating with her handler but thoroughly enjoying her day out. I feel that both she and her owner will benefit from ringcraft classes. NOVICE BITCH - 3 (0) 1st - Glasgow’s Gallus Hopes And Dreams 2nd - Kirby’s Braemoor’s Rejoice Again At Finesk (imp Nld) Finely made feminine girl with decent length of neck, ribcage and matching angles. Moved well. 3rd - Hume’s Beabeardies Mustang Sally GRADUATE BITCH - 3 (0) 1st - Gamble’s Capelaw Celeste Super girl with lovely head properties. Dark eye toning with coat. Good front angulation, long rib with short loin. Well muscled rear. Moved very well when settled. Would like to see her be shown more often. RBB. 2nd - Goodbrand’s Braesnobel Big Yellow Taxi Very ultra feminine girl with good head and dark eye. Nicely angulated throughout but felt she would benefit from carrying a little more weight. Moved well. 3rd - Savage & McLean’s Strufingill Penny Benjamin At Canaich POST GRADUATE BITCH - 2 (0) 1st - Goodbrand’s Braesnobel Rum N’Raisin Lovely headpiece with nice dark eye. Matching angles front and rear with good ribcage and short loin. Moved well. 2nd - Robertson’s Heather Mist Miss Tillietudlum At Quothquan (imp Swe) Taller brown girl with nice head but would prefer a darker eye. Nicely made all through but feel she would benefit from carrying a bit more weight. Moved well. LIMIT BITCH - 2 (0) 1st - Kuz’s Kiltondale Memphis Belle At Strufingill Feminine girl, slightly made. Lovely head and eye. Well placed shoulders and rear angles, long rib and short loin. Good reach and drive. 2nd - Johnston’s Corimist Glimmer Of Rye Stronger made bitch with good head and eye toning with coat. Heavily coated girl. Nicely made all through but didn’t feel she moved as well as the first. OPEN BITCH - 1 (0) 1st - Glasgow’s Basnikova Muza Od Plzenskeho Lotra Gallus (imp Cze) JW Plain brown girl with lots to like about her. Dark expressive eyes and flat skull. Lovely length of neck into well laid shoulders. Matching front and rear assemblies. Overall a lovely girl who glided effortlessly round the ring. Super girl. Best Bitch, BOS & RBIS.
